Black-Magic RT S26 is a room temperature blackening solution predominately used for low smut black on cast iron; however, it can be used to blacken steel or tool steel.

Black-Magic RT S20 is a room temperature blackening solution for steel. This liquid concentrate is diluted with water and used at room temperature for blackening iron and steel by immersion. Black-Magic RT S20 is recommended for blackening hardened and polished steels.

This dry powdered alkaline product mixed with room temperature water will serve two purposes: a) neutralize the surface of the metal; and b) develop a protective coating against oxidation and corrosion.
